The Rachel Carson Council Library consists of over 2,000 books; 1,500 documents and unbound reports; 50 drawers of specialized files as well as Environmental Protection Agency Pesticide Product Information.
The library covers numerous subjects including:
- pesticides
- toxic substances
- government regulation
- pest management programs
- alternatives to toxic chemical pesticides.
Special Collections include Government regulatory documents; Rachel Carson's personal library and a pesticide toxicology collection.
The library carries over 30 subscription to journals and other periodicals.
Open to the public by appointment only.
Special Indexes include pesticides by common name, chemical name, trade names and Chemical Abstract Soceity (CAS) number.
