RCC Report Card 2010

Thanks to a talented and dedicated staff, a host of volunteers and loyal supporters, Rachel Carson Councilʼs activities during 2010 have furthered ourobjectives (see end box). This year we have been: 1) generating important publications, 2) partnering with outside organizations, 3) educating the public through responding to information requests and 4) hosting a major public event.

Rachel Carson Councilʼs work in 2010 (our 45th anniversary year) has shown us that the publicʼs understanding of the connections between healthy ecosystems and healthy families needs greater emphasis especially at the local level. Due to RCCʼs contacts with citizens through their associations and garden clubs, this year we have been pleased to find respect and appreciation for our kind of ecological message. Helping to increase the publicʼs ecological awareness has given us the satisfaction of knowing we have advanced our organizationʼs goals.

Due to space limitations we need to omit certain details about our work such as: commenting on pending regulations and publications, participating in public events, hosting special visitors to our office and other endeavors that occupied us during 2010. Please feel free to request additional information on such activities.
